Hide Ball: Brain Teaser Games is a puzzle game from HYPERCELL that I stumbled on while scrolling through Google Play. It is a pure mobile game, so you will not find it on Steam, Xbox, or Switch. You can download it on android through the Google Play Store, and it also shows up on the App Store for iPhone users. The game launched around early 2023 and has already racked up millions of installs. The best part? It is free to download and install. You do not have to pay a cent to start playing. There are in app ads, and you can pay to remove them or grab some extra hints. A one time purchase to kill the ads usually costs a few dollars, and small hint packs run from about a dollar to five. Nothing crazy, but the ads can get annoying if you play for long stretches.

So how do you actually play this thing? Each level shows you a scene with a ball hidden somewhere, and you have to figure out where it is by tapping, dragging, or using logic. Sometimes you move objects, sometimes you rotate the screen, and other times you just have to think outside the box. The best part for me is that "aha" moment when the solution finally clicks. My favorite thing to do is play a few levels before bed. It is relaxing but still makes my brain work. You do not need lightning reflexes or crazy skills. Just patience and a bit of imagination. The game never rushes you, which is a nice change from all those timed puzzle games that stress me out.

Compared to other brain teasers like Brain Out or Brain Test, Hide Ball feels less random and more fair. Those games sometimes throw in troll answers that make you feel stupid. Hide Ball still has tricky levels, but the solutions usually make sense once you see them. I also played a lot of Find Out and Can You Escape, and honestly, Hide Ball has better level design. The visuals are cleaner, and the difficulty curve is smoother. If you like puzzle games that respect your time, this one is worth a shot. I recommend it over many similar apps because it does not shove ads in your face every ten seconds. You can actually enjoy the ride. Just remember, it is a mobile only experience, so do not expect a PC port anytime soon.

features

  • Simple tap and drag controls 🎮: You only need one finger to play, which makes it perfect for quick sessions on your phone.
  • Hundreds of levels with increasing difficulty 🧩: Compared to Brain Out, Hide Ball feels more consistent and less random with its puzzles.
  • Offline play support 📴: You can download and install it once, then play without Wi-Fi, which is great for travel.
  • Clean and colorful art style 🎨: Unlike some similar apps on Google Play, this one does not look cheap or cluttered.

pros

  • Fair puzzle design 😊: Unlike Brain Test, most solutions here feel logical, not like cheap gotcha tricks.
  • No forced timers ⏳: You can think as long as you want, which is rare in this genre.
  • Small download size 📦: It installs fast on android, even on older phones with limited storage.
  • Regular level updates 🔄: The developers keep adding new content, so you do not run out of puzzles quickly.

cons

  • Ads can pile up 😒: Between levels, you get video ads, and they interrupt the flow more than in Find Out.
  • Hints cost money 💸: If you get stuck, free hints are limited, and you may need to pay or watch more ads.
  • Some levels feel repetitive 🥱: Around level 100, a few puzzles start to feel like repeats of earlier ideas.
